We are on the Internet all the time. Morning, noon, evening. At home, at work and sometimes even when we buy groceries. We check our mail, update our Facebook profile and keep ourselves up to date on worldwide news. We especially use the Internet when we travel. Whether it is for keeping in contact with people back home, looking for restaurants or finding our way with online maps.
To our great advantage, more and more airlines are installing wireless internet access on board the aircraft and many airports around the world now offer wireless Internet to travelers.
Here you can find a quick overview of some of the most popular airports and their internet access.
Paris Charles de Gaulle
Price: The first 15 minutes are free. After the first 30 minutes will cost approximately €2, and a day costs approximately €10. The airport in Paris also offers computers with Internet access: All terminals at Charles de Gaulle airport, have desktop computers with internet access. The first 15 minutes are free, then the price is approximately 20 cents per minute.
Schiphol Amsterdam Airport
Price: The first hour is free. There after 5 minutes cost approximately €3, 30 minutes cost approximately €6, 90 minutes cost approximately €12 and 24 hours approximately €16. The airport also offers zones with desktop computers with Internet.
Price: First 30 minutes are free. There after each hour costs approximately €5.
Frankfurt airport also offers Internet areas with stationary computers.
London Heathrow Airport
Price: You pay for Internet access via the site Boingo, a global provider of wireless Internet with more than 500,000 hotspots around the world. A subscription to hotspots in the UK costs approximately €13 per month, while a subscription for the entire world costs approximately €45. There are also computers with Internet access in all terminals.
Price: Free if you are a member of the benefit program, CPH Advantage, which is free to join. You can also buy access to the wireless Internet: 30 minutes costs approximately €5,5, an hour costs approximately €8 and four hours costs approximately €11. There are two computers before check-in between terminals 2 and 3, and again after check-in at gate C6.
John F. Kennedy International Airport
Price: One hour costs about €4 and 24 hours costs approximately €6,5, if you pay for Internet access via the site Boingo. A subscription to hotspots in North and South America costs around €8 per month.
Singapore Changi Airport
Price: It is free. You can surf up to 1 Mbps with the Singapore Changi Airport’s wireless Internet and there are more than 500 Internet stations available in all terminals.
