Italy’s Finest Festivals

I’ve started lobbying for my boss to send me to Italy for the summer. You know, in the name of research. icon wink Italys Finest Festivals I figured the best way was to put together a small list of events I could cover in great detail were I given the chance to do it! So here’s my awesome list of 5 festivals I’d love to attend over the summer!

Giostra della Quintana: I’d get to Italy and pick up a car hire at Rome Airport and head straight to Folino to check out this fabulous festival held in the first Saturday of July. Giostra della Quintana gets points for including jousting and for people walking around in 17th century costumes. I mean, jousting, how is that not cool? icon wink Italys Finest Festivals

Festival dei Due Mondii: Performing arts for every taste: from opera, to ballet, movies and concerts and all around entertaining events. It’s in Spoleto, so my Italy car hire would come in handy when driving there. It’s supposed to be one of Italy’s most significant cultural events, so I’m looking forward to see what all the fuss is about.

LakeComo Festival: Music on LakeComo: Another July event. Lake Como is absolutely gorgeous. My sister has been there and tortured me for years with pictures from her trip. So I intend on going there during one of the most exciting times of the year to be in the Lake Como area and torture her in turn. icon wink Italys Finest Festivals Cause that’s what sisters do. ^^

Brisghella Medieval Festival: Ok, I’ll admit I’m a sucker for fancy costumes and jugglers… I’ve never been to Brisghella but the pictures I’ve seen have me dying to go! It’s like a town out of a postcard, a little castle on top of a hill, overlooking green meadows with delicate flowery patches here and there.

Disfida degli Arceri di Terra e di Corte: Also in July, this exciting archery contest takes place in Fivizzano, in Tuscany. More fancy costumes, cause that’s the way I roll. icon wink Italys Finest Festivals It’s all very Robin Hood, with competing archers coming from neighbouring towns to compete in a daring display of marksmanship!

I think it’s time to start pestering Richard and Sarah to join my campaign! Any other festivals I should check out? What are your suggestions? icon wink Italys Finest Festivals
