Longmorn, Elgin

The small city of Elgin is situated on the A96, west of Inverness and east of Aberdeen. A couple of kilometres south of the city you will find the Longmorn distillery where whisky has been produced since 1894. This single malt whisky is really worth a visit! Remember to pre-book your visit, though.

Combine your visit with a stay at the Sunninghill Hotel in Elgin.

Balvenie, Speyside

From Longmorn head south to Dufftown. Here you will find the Balvenie distillery, which was founded in 1892 by William Grant (whom is mostly famous for the Grants whisky). Compared to Longmorn this is a more modern distillery with impressive buildnings and a smooth and elegant whisky.

In Dufftown there are a few smaller b&b:s where you can stay.

Springbank, Campbeltown

On the Kintyre peninsula, south of Glasgow layes the city of Campbeltown. The oldest distillery that this town has to offer is called Springbank. In 1828 this family distillery started and is still today family owned. Here everything is being done locally, from graining to botteling. Rent a car and discover the beautiful surroundings and get a bit of fresh sea air!

Just outside of the city you can stay at the Craigard-house, which is a recently converted Victorian Mansion by the Campbeltown Loch. Beautiful!

Talisker on the Isle of Skye

Isle of Skye is the largest and most northerly situated island in Scotland. Whisky making has been a tradition here since early 1830. Book a tour here and see the workers in action. With car hire you can also visit other, smaller distilleries on the Isle of Skye.

Stay at Phoenix house bed & breakfast in Carbost. The property was originally owned by the Talisker Distillery and is just a 5 minutes walk from there.

In the richest town in China (called Huaxi) a replica of the White House and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris as well as a copy of the Forbidden City has been built.

Dubai have a reputation of being a city with many skyscrapers and odd buildings. The business man Saeed Al Gandhi has taken an interest in the French city of Lyon and is currently building an exact copy of the Lyon latin quarters. All this is being constructed in the desert outside of Dubai!

Costa de La Luz
In south west Spain, close to the Portuguese border you find Costa de La Luz (Coast of Light). Start your journey in Gibraltar, Sevilla or Jerez and continue west! Costa Calída
Costa Calída, ”the warm coast”, has a warm micro-climate and during July and August the temperatures ofter reach over 30 degrees. Costa Blanca

Parc des Buttes Chaumont

This park is located in the 19th arrondissement in Paris. It was created in 1867 and is 67 acres big. Planning a romantic weekend in Paris? Then this park is a must see! It has several cliffs, romantic bridges (both stone and suspension bridges), waterfalls and a lake. Apart from this you will find several English and Chinese gardens with many flower species and exotic trees. A visit to the Belvedere of Sybil is really a must. It is a temple situated on a rocky peak almost 30 meters over the lake. If you forgot to bring your own lunch you can stay calm. In the park there are no less than three nice restaurants.

Buen Retiro Park

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Wherever you look there are big skyscrapers and there is always some construction going on. With this in mind it is easy to understand why the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is so popular. Once you enter the park you understand that its major attractions are strolling, running, biking and its many exotic flowers and trees. This is a park for relaxation!

Ueno Park
Location: Tokyo, Japan
The best time to visit this spacious park must undoubtedly be in the spring when the over 800 cherry trees blossom! The park was opened in 1873 and is the most popular one in Japan. Apart from the exotic trees and the nice pond you can also visit several museums in the park as well as many cultural and sacred places. A visit in the park is a nice contrast to the buzzing city of Tokyo.
